America by the virtue of liberty is a
conservative nation with mood swings and hot flashes surpassing my aunt
Bertha's climactic menopausal cycles.
With that said
conservatives won't find a Goldwater conservative roaming around
looking to be elected. And conservatives are dreaming, delusional or
experiencing LSD flash backs if the shadow of Ronald Reagan is
lingering behind any republican hopeful.
Conservatives need to
rally around a candidate before the radical socialist claim the White
House in 2008, or have we forgotten what happened in 2006. Any
conservative that is waiting for another Ronald Reagan has a long wait,
the world may even witness the return of the messiah before another
Ronald Reagan returns.
Giuliani's closet has so many skeletons
lurking in it that Steven King is writing a screen play for his next
horror flick based on what can be seen through the keyhole. But then
who knows Giuliani may make us an offer we can't refuse.
I
can't for the life of me figure out McCain, not that I want to, talk
about a liberal wolf in republican clothing. If McCain was sincere
about his quest for the White House he would have started representing
conservatives back in 2004 instead of playing pin the tail on the
donkey. McCain is a good man but the sun is setting in his backyard and
he should just pull up a rocker and enjoy the view.
Now Newt
Gingrich is a very intelligent man how he ever allowed being labeled
the Grinch that sole the school lunch program is beyond me. I doubt
that Newt can shake the cultural icon "You're a mean one, Mr. Gingrich!
Sen. Sam Brownback, Gov. Jim Gilmore, Gov. Mike Huckabee, Rep.
Duncan Hunter, Rep. Ron Paul, Rep. Tom Tancredo, Gov. Tommy Thompson
all reside in Whoville and are in stealth-mode on the political radar
so amassing campaign funding is impossible.
That leaves us Sen. Fred Thompson & Gov. Mitt Romney.
Law & Order Thompson is being compared to Ronald Reagan, Fred is an
actor, he is indeed a conservative, his conservative voting record as
Senator are unassailable, but is he a Ronald Reagan, more importantly,
does he need to be a Ronald Reagan. If Fred doesn't jump into the race
he could possibly be drafted during a divided republican convention.
Which
brings us to Mitt Romney. With an impressive track record of getting
things done, right now all he has to prove is that he can shake off the
political tar & feathering and the ignorance and superstition of
the religious right. If more men can get past Romney being a Mormon,
conservatives and America will have a winning candidate.
The current political trend mandates that the next president have the
capability of mending the great political divide before this nation
implodes. I am not a betting man and baring the bigotry of the
religious right, I am putting my hard earned money on what is the most
logical choice "Mitt Romney for President."
